Overview

The Capital Area Suicide Prevention Resource Team (CASPRT) works to identify needs and create resources for suicide prevention, intervention and postvention within the region.

Through a collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI NH), we have been tasked with focusing on young people, (ages 10-24) as suicide is the second leading cause of death within that age group.  The specific populations who are at highest risk for suicide are those with substance misuse disorders, military experience, minority and refugee populations, LGBTQ populations, young adults not enrolled in college, justice involved young people, and young people who have had an inpatient psychiatric admission.

Our work includes building capacity in our region by providing community trainings and Train the Trainer sessions of the Project Connect Curriculum.  As a committee member, your expertise, input and community presence provides great value to our work. Learning and implementing best practices is a valuable component of how to best serve our community and region in regards to suicide prevention, intervention and postvention.
